Midnight Interiors

I do love the unexpected in interior design and lately I've seen an incredible amount of talented work in midnight blue palates. Its so striking and elegant. The use of contrast is what makes these spaces sing, from the defined wall spaces in their rich color with pops of complimentary colors and crisp white. Luxurious yet cozy aren't they?

Photobucket

what a gorgeous room designed by Nate Berkus & Anne Coyle.
Overall it is very monochromatic with touches of gold & white. Notice how those pictures
really stand out against the midnight blue walls & molding.

this dining space was designed by Ashley Putman & featured in Lonny Magazine.
White, white, white is the feature that pulls out the contrast in this room!

Photobucket

Miles Redd, always so talented! just by hanging a piece of artwork
against the shelves adds a tasteful touch tying in the complimentary
colors of this space! Oh and look! there are those herringbone floors again!

Photobucket

even in a closet you can make a dramatic statement.
here the walls are painted a dark blue contrasted against a natural grey wash built-in.
isn't that mirror perfect for a dressing room?!

Herringbone Floors

I just absolutely adore herringbone floors! they are so incredibly beautiful, and in my opinion are a work of art for your floors! A traditional, classic look that can serve to any interior and personal taste and style. I can't wait until one day I can have my very own herringbone floors in my home. But until then, I will relish in these lovely images.

Introducing... Maison Interiors & a New Look!

Happy Wednesday! It has been busy busy for me! As you can see my blog has taken on a new look! Dwell in Beauty is now Maison Interiors! I have been working with the sweet & wonderful Jenna from q.a. design getting this blog a brand new look! I wanted to do this makeover to reflect my design style as a designer and my love for french and asian aesthetic... two of my favorite design styles! "Maison" is obviously the french aspect, and the logo of the "pagoda" is the asian aspect. I also am introducing my little shop of home accessories, designer fabrics, and one-of-a kind paintings created by yours truly. More to come!

If I were a rich lady...

I'd be over at One Kings Lane purchasing these 2 beauties! Aren't they lovely? I especially love the gray cocktail table with the linen finish! Enjoy your wednesday.

Good Afternoon

I have been super busy with work and am so excited to announce that my blog is getting a much awaited makeover! along with its chic new look, there are also a couple other surprises! For now I will leave you today with a beautiful image of a room designed by the fabulous Mary McDonald.

Lately...

It seems that I am drawn to the color lilac. Mixed with grey, natural raw materials and a hint of glimmer from a mirror or crystal chandelier, seems to me the perfect canvas for a sophisticated retreat. I am so inspired to redo a room of my own which holds the characteristics of the soft lilac rooms that I just can't get enough of. Smile and have a lovely weekend!
